Rites of Passage & Youth Leadership Development Program

Ages 8–17 | Phoenix, Arizona

The RBG Youth Leaders Initiative is a 12-week rites of passage program designed to equip young men with the knowledge, discipline, confidence, and practical skills needed to navigate life with purpose.

Our approach connects history, culture, and preparation for the future through mentorship, hands-on learning, physical development, and brotherhood. Participants are challenged to understand who they are, take responsibility for their decisions, and recognize their role within their families and communities.

2027 Program Details

• Ages: 8–17

• Program Cost: $300 per participant

• ESA Approved: Yes

• Payment Plans: Available

• Orientation: Saturday, January 16, 2027

• First Class: Saturday, January 23, 2027

• Schedule: Saturdays, 9:45 AM – 1:45 PM

• Location: Bret Tarver Learning Center, Phoenix, AZ

• Lunch: Provided during each program session

What Participants Will Experience

• History & Cultural Identity: African and African American history, knowledge of self, and cultural awareness.

• Leadership & Character Development: Accountability, discipline, respect, responsibility, and brotherhood.

• Martial Arts & Self-Defense: Physical fitness, self-control, confidence, and personal safety.

• Communication & Conflict Resolution: Emotional intelligence, effective communication, and peaceful problem-solving.

• STEAAM Education: Science, technology, entrepreneurship, arts, agriculture, and mathematics.

• Trade Skills & Entrepreneurship: Hands-on exposure to practical trades, business fundamentals, and financial intelligence.

• Outdoor Education: A camping experience emphasizing teamwork, independence, and environmental awareness.

• Rites of Passage Ceremony: A culminating celebration recognizing each participant’s commitment, growth, and accomplishments.
